This 22″ is the largest Table Top in the Komodo Kamado line. This grill has an enormous lid for unequaled upper grate capacity and a huge lower bucket that gives it the same charcoal basket to main grate distance as our full sized grills. The 22" Supreme Hi-Cap is designed for both durability and performance. It is cast using refractory cements, these are the same materials industries use for all high temperature containment from blast furnaces to nuclear facilities.
This is the inside of the grill and has a dense durable refractory material. the firebox is the same material.
This is a vermiculite based insulation that is fortified with AeroGel the world's most efficient insulation.
The grill is jacketed with glazed ceramic tiles to protect the lightweight vermiculite insulation. A high tech insulation with nano ceramic spheres is used both as the adhesive and grout. This material is elastomeric and will flex as the grill expands when heated.

The 22" Table Top comes rotisserie ready. There is a sleeve on the inside left wall of the grill with a spring loaded plate and a sleeve on the right with a socket on the inside. The drive shaft has two bearings and sockets on both ends. One inside and one outside. The motor is mounted on the side accessory plate..and drives the outside socket which drives the roti..
The 22" Table Top can use a 8" cradle for turkeys and rib roasts and 6" cradle for chickens.. There is a new adapter to reduce an 8" cradle to 6".
All KK grills come plug and play ready for temperature control devices. These use fans and probes to control airflow/temperature. Just set your target grill temperature and walk away. The Handle and Latch Mechanism
The grill has an interlocking lip with a collapsable silicone gasket. This latch has a roller bearing and a two position catch. When you close the grill it catches on the first position. Firmly press the paddle towards the grill and the bearing rolls up and over the cam pulling the grill snugly closed and making an absolutely airtight seal. Click on images to enlarge.
Rear Hinge assembly
The rear hinge assembly is produced using state of the art CNC machines. Brushed 304 stainless is digitally laser cut then folded, creating pieces with uniformity previously unavailable. A bit overkill for a grill but is absolutely beautiful if you appreciate mechanical craftsmanship.
Two Piece Firebox
KK's patented Two-Piece firebox No avoiding physics.. The firebox needs to expand when heated. This design prevents the cracking that plagues traditional ceramic grills.
1/4″ 304 stainless steel charcoal basket makes it easy to remove ash and unburned charcoal.
Main Cooking Grill/Grid
3/8″ / 9mm, 304 stainless Main Grill Countersunk from the lip, which keeps unruly meat on the grill and prevents you from closing the lid on your food. The front half moon can be opened, which lets you add smoking wood during low and slow cooks.
Upper Cooking Grill/Grid
3/8″ / 9mm, 304 stainless Upper / Reversible Sear Grate Gives you additional space for low and slow cooks, raises your food up into the radiant heat zone (from the ceiling) for browning everything from chickens to pizza to bread.
