In your search for excellent performance, you could buy a lot of different specialty grills or smokers for the different types of charcoal cooking you do. Or you could buy just one. Whether you are grilling, baking pizza at high temps, doing low and slow cooks, or using our unique rotisserie option, these grills match or out perform the industry’s best in these different types of cooks. Only Komodo can make this claim across the board. These features along with being built with the finest materials and production techniques put Komodo in a class of their own.
There are many Kamados on the market, Primo Kamado, KamadoJoe, Grill Dome and of course the most famous of the all the Big Green Egg. These other Kamados are all basically a simple, glazed ceramic pot with hinged straps and airflow control components. They have a large firebox which protects the glazed outer body from high temps. Generally they are very simple and basic, primarily using powder painted carbon steel for their components and grills. These simple components are often at the bottom of the quality index. While they all talk about being insulated, these glazed pots have absolutely no actual insulation.. touch one at temp and let your fingers tell you about it.
Ten years ago Komodo Kamado went in a completely new direction by using refractory cements, industry’s solution for high temperature containment. It was then taken one step further by adding two layers and three types of actual insulation. Other improvements corrected problems that plagued the traditional ceramic grills. These were casting the straps into the body, making it self-opening. Built using the finest methods of fabrication and copious amounts of 304 stainless a completely new type of grill was born. While in the same kamado category it’s like comparing a basic economy car to a luxury car in both performance and user’s experience. The fact that a KK grill costs more to ship and deliver than these grills cost to produce is a clear indication they are in a completely different class.
